This weekend we took part in a fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes, walking for a special 7 year old kid who has had diabetes since she was 4. Her mum calculated that she has had to prick her thumb 8,000 times so far while they learn how to manage this condition.

With the thumb being such a significant part of Amelia’s experience, we came up with an idea to have her draw some characters on a thumb print which she created on paper. I then scanned the drawings at the highest quality my little scanner would go, and added some text to create a ‘logo’ for us to use in merch. We then got some vinyl prints done for tshirts, small vinyl stickers and keyrings. Next year we hope to increase the items we offer to help fundraise for JDRF.
